For our band program’s fundraising campaign this fall, instead of a typical fundraiser where students sell merchandise from a catalog and then deliver it, we are soliciting donations. It’s easier for you, there is no merchandise to pick up and deliver, 100% of the money goes towards the kids, and we can offer better rewards for students who participate.
How it Works
Students simply ask friends and family to make a donation to our school band program. Checks may be written to “VHMS BAND”. Students should fill out their contact sheet as they collect donations or contacts. Collected donations should be turned in on Friday, October 7th, 2016 (before school, during 2nd lunch, or after school). Donations are still accepted year-round!

Why Are We Doing This? Doesn't the Band Receive Funding?
Our band program receives very limited funding that is supposed to cover new concert music (cost about $50 for each piece, and we play 3-4 pieces with each of our 3 bands in 3 concerts each year), repairing equipment and school-owned instruments (last year was over $4000), classroom supplies, percussion accessories (the bass drum mallet was $85, for example), etc.
This fundraiser will help cover these cost and replace older equipment. Our greatest need this year is a new tuba. A King model 1135w tuba costs $4629 plus tax.
Band programs are expensive. We need financial help to create the best, most educational experience for your children. If we all contribute what we can, we can do something incredible together.
